Subject – Extension in timeline to obtain fresh NISM Certification under Regulation 7(2) of SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013
This is in continuation to the BSE notice no. 20240830-49 dated August 30, 2024 wherein one-time extension till November 30, 2024 was provided to obtain NISM certification to such Investment Advisers (‘IAs’) whose base certification (NISM XA or NISM XB) was expiring on or before November 30, 2024.
The necessary amendments in the SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, wherein, as approved by the Board, the requirement of obtaining fresh NISM XA and XB before expiry of the same, is being substituted by the requirement of obtaining new certification on the incremental changes or developments, are in the process of getting notified.
In view of above, it has been decided to provide further extension till December 31, 2024 or till notification of the aforesaid amendments to SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, whichever is earlier, to obtain fresh certification to such IAs whose base certification (NISM XA or NISM XB) has expired/ is expiring between August 28, 2024 (i.e. date of grating original extension) and December 31, 2024 or till notification of the aforesaid amendments to SEBI (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, whichever is earlier.
Enlisted Investment Advisers are advised to take a note of the same and ensure compliance.
